Creating an “open link” button column
When you add a link to a table in a “link” column, the visual is a globe icon. While this is handy for keeping things visually uncluttered, not all users will intuitively know to click the globe to open the link. Adding a button that opens the link that screams CLICK ME can help users quickly understand what they are supposed to do.
Step 1: Create columns
Create 2 columns; one column should be a link column type and the other a button column type.Step 2: Set action to OpenHyperlink
Set your button so that the on-click action is “Open Hyperlink”. Using the formula builder (trigger by typing = into the url field), set the URL to
thisrow.[ColumnName]
with column name being the column where you store your link. Your button settings should look like this, (in our example, the link column is called “Link”):Step 3: Adjust columns and layout
